How do I know it is real?
Check it against the bar itself. A real kakishibu bar is firm and holds together, and one lasts about two months in a wet shower. The bars that are mostly perfume go soft and mushy inside a week or two, because there is nothing in them holding them together. You will know which one you have within days. And you have 60 days to send it back either way.
What does it smell like?
Mild and clean. Not fruity. The fakes lead with a strong persimmon scent because the scent is all they have, and it fades in a few hours. This one is not covering anything up, so it does not need to smell like much.
Will it dry out my skin?
It cleans without stripping. Older skin is drier to begin with, and this is made with that in mind. If your skin reacts to new products, try it on one area first.
How do I use it?
Like ordinary soap, in the shower, once a day. Spend a little longer where the smell settles most: behind the ears, the back of the neck, the chest and the upper back. Let the bar dry out between uses and it will last much longer.
